North to South

This photographic project begins with a return and unfolds through movement. Starting in the Northeast, I traveled southward across China, tracing cities, towns, and built environments shaped by different histories, climates, and rhythms of life. The journey became a way of looking again—at places once familiar, at structures transformed by time, and at the visual language embedded within architecture.

Through these images, geography becomes memory. The movement from north to south is not only a passage through space, but an exploration of belonging, identity, and cultural contrast. Buildings become witnesses to change, carrying traces of personal and collective histories. Together, the photographs form a map of return, where architecture becomes both subject and storyteller.
